Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has recently stated that Ukraine has no involvement in sabotaging the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. He also went on to deny any links to a Croatian flagged ship that was detained by Russian authorities on suspicion of involvement in the sabotage.
The Nord Stream 2 pipeline, which will carry natural gas from Russia to Germany, has faced fierce opposition from the Ukrainian government and other countries in the region. The Ukrainian government has argued that the pipeline would increase Europe’s dependence on Russian gas and circumvent existing pipelines running through Ukraine.
